The main impetus for my work is taking discarded or aged fabrics, threads and precious items and
turning them into original works of 2D and 3D art. For a long time now I have been wanting to create a series of artworks about the Brontes; this goes back to my teenage years when I was an avid reader. In these days of epidemic and lockdown, turning to the Brontes felt very apt: they lived at a
time of great uncertainty over which illness and death cast persistent shadows.
